RIP, Mr. Bryan.  I only had the fortune to meet you in person, once, but you left a lasting, positive impression.  Thank you for your kindness, your humility, and your Ohana.  I will miss you.

..."you'll come and find the place where I am lying and kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.
And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me, and all my grave will warmer-sweeter be,
For you will bend and tell me that you love me,
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me"

Last part of Danny Boy, by Frederic E. Weatherly, lyrics 1910, music 1913.

I was reflecting the other day how often I still think of Bryan. I will always wish I was a better friend.
I woke today and suddenly nothing happened.

I really miss Bryan and think of him daily.  Hopefully Keli will still come up with his great kids for their annual visit.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

Oh my!   Just looked at the site for the first time in many months.   Hard to believe that Bryan is gone.   I had the pleasure to meet him  while he visited Philadelphia a few years ago and we shared a dinner at Sal's place. I will pray for Bryan's soul and the consolation of his wife and children.  I believe he had a son and a daughter. What great guy!

Perhaps I had it easier than I was thinking.
Several months ago, I did one; long-prayer style for a family from Cambridge MA. Their son died here in a hiking accident, only 30 yrs. old. I was the only member of our church here on the Island and his Mom was desperate.
Part of me was freaked-out, having never met the young-man or his family before. Another better part of me was thankful for the opportunity(though this took awhile to manifest itself in my heart and mind). Afterwards I was real glad I did it. Not easy in that tiny viewing room with all of the emotion from 4 people that obviously loved him very much. But, them being strangers to me, may even have helped me get over myself a bit.
I have confidence that you'll do better than you may be thinking, Alan.

Just left Alan's house, Lee Putnam, Mike Potts, myself, and the Tani family shared a great meal and shared our stories of Bryan.  Still hard to believe he is gone.  I will be at the memorial tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing the Ohana tomorrow. Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!
