Daiwa Fuego LT2500D

I traded a few jigs for a used Fuego LT 2500 D that needed a service. Both pinion gear bearings were seized or rough so I ordered replacements. It's been sitting disassembled for 10 days or so, so I'm not super fresh but I'm sure the drive, pinion, and oscillating gears are together correctly. However when I turn the handle it's very grindy like a coffee grinder but when I turn the pinion gear it's smooth like it should be.

The gears showed signs of light corrosion but I cleaned and greased everything with Penn grease and all of the gear teeth look good.

I have a stack of 4 washers/spacers that I believe came out together but I'm not sure where they were exactly. It was 3 brass colored and a stainless colored one with the ID of the drive gear shaft. I don't see them on the schematics so I assume they might have been shims?

I know it's a 100$ inshore reel that's more or less disposable but if I can fix it up I would like to. Or if anyone is very good with Fuegos or Daiwa spinners I would consider sending it off for a service/repair.

Any advice?


And yes I'll be taking disassembly pictures next time I do a spinning reel service.

Just in case it helps someone. I was indeed putting it together correctly but it doesn't line up and spin until you put it all the way together.
