New to the forum, used to do a lot of fishing over the years. Now that I'm retired, and can't afford it, I've bought a 1969 Quintrex tinny with a Suzuki 30. Tidying up the boat and servicing the outboard means that there's not a lot of dough left for fishing gear :(
Picked up a second-hand 330 GTI Penn reel on an old Butterworth roller-tip rod, hoping to get amongst some snapper or coral trout.  :fish
Anyway, cutting a long story short, I went looking for some maintenance info on the reel, and Mr Google was kind enough to point me in the direction of this forum. From what I've seen so far, this is exactly what I was looking for!
I'll keep on lurking, and eventually start asking questions.

Welcome from San Mateo, CA.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Welcome Don from the SoCal Inland Empire!  We have a lot of great folks down there; and I have learned enough from them to know Australia is one BIG country so I looked up where Queensland was.  Love those GTI's!  You will have fun here! - john

I never make the same mistake twice.

I make it 5 or 6 times, you know, just to be sure.

Hi Don, if your line level, ever gives you trouble, just remove it, and seal of the hole were it was, then you can cast a lot further with it,they are quite narrow reels to manage without it, and welcome from Sunny Western Australia, cheers Don.

Thanks for the words of welcome, folks!
Back in the mists of time, when I was a young feller, I used to drool over pictures in magazines of Penn reels, even though I thought I'd never be able to afford one. How times have changed! I still get excited about them, even the Chinese ones!  :D
I'll be keeping an eye on FB marketplace and a few other places. Knowing that I now have a source for knowledge and parts makes a big difference.
Expect to see me lurking a lot, and asking the odd newbie questions!
