Looks to me like it has a cork drag on the back as Joe noted.  The magnets are mounted facing front of the  aluminum spool so it looks like it would  work like a cast control mechanism on a conventional reel, the greater the RPMs the more supplemental braking. Or in this case the faster the fish is taking line, the more the drag would ramp up.

But that would be kind of goofy...
