I have started fishing shimano Bantam 100, 300 and 400 series. All stainless. Very impressive reels. Except three wheel drag but there are-after market replacement. So i IMG_7786.jpegpicked up a shimano bantam mag 50ssg on ebay. Unfortunately did not notice missing spool control cap, spacer and rubber oil ring. All parts available. The key part is a missing delrin bushing which is not available. Epiphany? How about a bearing ? Thoughts??

If you were to replace the bushing it would only be right to replace both sides of spool.

A cap ball bearing might improve it, but you'll never know unless you test it against a bushing. Godda have some kinda shim in there for spool adjustment. But it prolly oughta be springy like the old brass ones.
Nice reel. What's the gear-side lever do?
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

Thanks for info.I was able to find replacement parts based on schematics for Bantam 100, 300 and 50 mag. I was able to exchange parts as i have 100/300 reels to see what fits on 50mag. I also was able to find a hpr bearing replacement and a ebay compatible bushing. Will see comparison.
The lever on side is an on/off switch clicker. Its really loud

Fishgolfman, where did you find a source for parts?

Once i found a schematic number. Googled. Mikes reel repair had some. But ebay was best. Had to go to three different ebay sellers for all the parts!
