Another one owner Cardinal 4

I just acquired another one owner Cardinal 4 for $34 after shipping. Not a shelfie By no means & missing a spool, I have a spare aluminum spool. I can't pass on deals like this Pictures when I get it.

$70 total with an aluminum spool is still a decent deal for Card 4. Beats the heck out of the competition. It'll still be catching fish when other models have been sent to the scrap pile or parts bin. They'll most likely be catching fish when we're all dead & gone.

Too bad they didn't start out with a metal spool. In my opinion they are probably the best (highest quality), other than the spools, mass produced open face spinning reel ever made, especially for the original price.

This reel had a mucked up cover screw had me worried, but I got it out,had a new spare. It was really stiff 1st cardinal I ever felt like this. I had to drive the main gear out with a punch after a  squirt of Kroil .The bearing was also stiff so I soaked all the unpainted metal in lacquer thinner & lubed with
Lucas reel oil + Superlube. I put it back together and polished it with a micro fiber cloth . It's a 74' model & feels brand new again.

Nice work! I sent all my Card parts to HarryK some years back. Gotta check in on him- haven't seen him post in a minute.
