lighter line was the ticket.  all fish were 80 to 100 pounds.  very nice grade!

30-40 pound gear fish.

funny thing about that.  these fish were mean.  seriously, they were really mean.  the last one took me around the boat twice.  he just would not turn.  even with 30 pounds of drag on 60 pound test, we went around twice.  finally, on that second lap, i got him to turn and spiral up on the bow.  his mistake.  where ever they turn, that's where they die.
