Penn 650SS Bearing stuck on main gear

I had a good Saturday at a fishing flea market and picked up 7 reels. I found a  DAM Super and 110, two Shakespeare 2062's, Daiwa 116C and SS 4000, and today's project, a Penn 650SS.
I have had the 750SS and 850SS since the 1980's, and I found a different 650SS in January.
Today's 650SS is usable, but a little tight. The left side bearing is rough and is stuck on the main gear. I think someone overtightened the handle and flared the end of the main gear. The bearing moves out of the side plate a little, but the main gear limits its movement. The main gear spans most of the length of the side plate, so I am reluctant to set it on my vise and whack it with a punch. I figure I will crack the side plate. Gentle tapping with a brass punch did not move it.  I got the clip and side plate off of the bearing easily, but that didn't help getting the bearing off.
How can I remove this bearing without damaging the side plate or main gear?

Question two, Mystic parts lists this bearing 20-722 as " ID-.315 x OD-.629 x THICK-.196 in." That seems pretty close to 9/64 x 5/8 x.196 bearing, which I can't find, either. Is there a cheap option? I hate to pay $15 for one bearing when I have found other spinning reel bearings for less than a dollar each.

That was a good haul of reels.
Freezing and heating(freezer and boiling water) would be the first thing I'd try.

The bearing is still stuck on the main gear. I tried freezing and boiling, no movement. I tried threading the room temperature handle stud into the hot main gear to cool the gear faster than the bearing, no change. I have it soaking in penetrating oil. Any other ideas are appreciated.

 That shaft looks tuliped / belled .  Support the shaft and push the bearing back in to give yourself room to file the end of the shaft , so you can slip the bearing off .    the cause of that is the handle was to tight and flared the end of the shaft .

Joe posted at the same time as I wrote this.

It looks like the very tip of the handle shaft is all that is keeping the bearing from sliding off the main gear shaft.

If it were my reel I would try to push the bearing as far into the side plate cavity as I can, and keeping it there, then push or lightly tap the main gear tight toward the bearing/side plate. The handle shaft tube on the main gear should then be sticking out a little bit, maybe a 1/16" or so. I would then use the flat side of an oval micro file and lightly file the outer protruding lip of the shaft tube. Then it should slide right through the bearing. You can then dress the handle shaft better before putting it back together.

    Yep dress up the shaft and the bearing will come off .  Two sets of eyes said so !!!

I took apart my other 650SS and see that the main gear will not push past the end of the bearing. I won't be able to drive the main gear edge clear of the bearing.

Simulure case .  Push the bearing back on the shaft as far as it will go , exposing the end of the shaft ,than file the bell/ ridge off .

What Tommy and OMJ said. I had the same problem with a reel. Pushed the bearing and gear together so the gear was sticking up above the bearing. Used some 200 wet/dry and twisted the gear while I held the end with the sandpaper. Tedious but it worked. That thick washer that goes between the gear and handle is supposed keep that from happening.

Be patient you'll get it.
