Replace reel handle on HX 5/2

hey guys, I snapped my Avet HX 5/2 handle arm in 1/2 like a dummy the other day

What do I need to order to replace it? any upgrade worth doing at this point?

cleeted off the fish , retied to another setup and still landed him though!!

it looks like avet might have a new system for ordering.  your old grip should work.  you can also upgrade to the handle for the hx wide.  i think that they are much better. 

here is the link to avet.  ordering has tough.  what i did in the past was to send an email with my full contact info, my full credit card info, a link to the schematic that i am looking at, and all of the parts needed listed by part number and description.  every extra step they have to take would add days of delay to my order.  it was the only way that i had found so that i cou;ld get things within a reasonable amount of time.  their ordering system was not user friendly at all.

I was reading somewhere that the handles are riveted on there and I would have to drill it out from the arm? Is that actually true?

Does the body have to come apart to replace the handle arm, or does it mount from the outside?

the handles will completely come apart.  there is a stainless steel post that is riveted to the arm.  everything else comes apart.

ah ok thanks, so the new handle arm will include the handle post already mounted?


in other words, all I need to order is #46 HANDLE ARM and I can disassemble my current handle and move everything ever to the new arm with no problem?

Avet parts have been harder than Mystic but MO is the best.

I hope Avet has fixed their parts ordering but a e-mail to the girl in Avet's front office has always worked for me.  I get a call a day or so later to pay  and then parts are on the way.  It still takes several more days than Mystic.
