I replaced the knobs on my Stradic 3000Fi's and 5000Fi's with the Gomexus replacement knobs and they have been fantastic. But now the gooey knob issue has affected my Stradic 8000Fi and it does not appear that knob can be removed from the handle and the replacement handle has been discontinued.   Does anyone know what other shimano handles are comparable or better yet,  is there an after market replacement available?  It looks like Gomexus may offer one but they have not responded to my inquiry.

I assume you've removed the cap to see if it can unscrew, leaving a post you can attach to? Many Shimano handles are set up like this. If you do not have a screw, there's always the option to drill the post out from behind. All gomexus knobs used to co.e with the post for drill fitment, now it's an add on.
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.

There's no screw like there is on the 5000Fi and I've read it's a machine press fitting.  The knob doesn't turn well and it's so sticky I don't see myself using it anymore so I'll drill it out and post some pics and measurements and hopefully we'll figure it out.

PS: Is @bantam1 from shimano on this forum?

Rant: It's very unfortunate Shimano is using inferior materials AND not supporting their products.  I own a mix of 40+ shimano and penn reels, I reely like shimano technology and functionality but I'm going back to penn if this is how they support their products.   I own some vintage / antique penn reels they still support and parts are readily available.

Your rant seems justified and I agree with the Penn aspect. Perhaps is an economic thing with Shimano. Old reels and sellers of old parts might be an option for discontinued Shimano reels/parts.

I used Plasti Dip on the knobs of a couple older Shimano Sedonas that were getting sticky and peeling. So far it's held up pretty well. Might work for the short term until you find a handle or knob that works.

Take a pic of how the handle attaches to the main gear. I have some old Shimano spinner handles, but none have labels, and you might just be in luck.

I realize this is a long shot but here's some photos with measurements.  I may try purchasing one of the replacement handles from Gomexus off Amazon.  Aside from the handle it still works great,  hate to send this reel to the wood shed over a handle.  If you look closely you'll see the thread rod has a smaller diameter at the tip than the base.

Update - The knob is fixed to the handle so I decided to cut it off so I could see if there's any way to attach an aftermarket knob.  Half way in I realized I could peel off the exterior layer of Septon and underneath is a solid plastic knob.  Ugly but functional except the knob is stiff so I'm soaking it oil now.
Still looking for a handle or knob solution but this might work for a while.
