Got a SF VI 6500. Auto bail not functioning. Trip pin in the rotor but I do not see a ramp or other type of part to engage the trip lever. Looking at a YouTube video someone said the auto bail function was in models up to 5500.
Is this correct, need confirmation before I waste more time! lol

Thanks everyone.

Have you looked for schematic at mystic to see what it shows?

I believe key# 28 closes the bail,I have had to tinker with them on other reels, oil helps?

Manual bail. It is missing the part 1E "Housing Slope" that would trip the bail and is present on the 5500. It looks a lot like you could just buy that part and fit it if you really wanted auto bail.

Most of our 5500/5000 reels and up are now fully manual bail including SSVI6500.

A great choice. I never understood the auto bail.

Thanks for the replies. Schematic did not show any ramp. I just wanted to verify what I was seeing as I had never serviced this reel before.
