Buddy bought a used Everol 20/0 2 speed. I have it currently. It has issues, some of which I have already fixed.

Issues remaining:

reel has full drag range but no free spool.
drag range was backward, increasing drag lever reduced drag. Fixed that.

Anti reverse ratchets not engaging. Fixed that.

the shift button and housing were mounted upside down. Fixed that.

has shift issues. Works fine in low gear but when shift to high gear the handle spins freely does not engage. Can shift back to low gear and works fine.

I now have it in high gear by taking the housing apart and putting it in high gear and have it locked in that position. Doing this the high speed does work.

There is a LOT of play in the handle shaft as it enters the shift housing, so much so that handle shaft has rubbed all the anodizing off the entry hole.

Wondering if anyone knows anyone that can work on these reels.

Thanks

The Only Big Everol's I have taken apart I bought new.
The Drag Lever is Critical and must be placed exactly like it was taken out or it will mess several things up.

Yes we have figured that out.  Also figured out that the end of the shifting shaft has broken off inside the low gear support bearing which is the main cause of all the slop in the drive handle....

This is the first time I've seen an issue in an everol that couldn't be resolved by a good cleaning. Thanks for sharing.
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.

Looks like the worst is going to be trying to get parts.... It is my understanding that the broken end of this shaft is 10mm and was identified as a flaw and has been replaced with a new design of 12mm, just not sure about the support bearing yet.

Contact Everol in Italy.
They are a pleasure to deal with and you will deal with the actual owner.

Thanks for your reply.  Contact has been made and parts on the way now.

Also if anyone else has this same issue and you order parts be aware of the design change.  The existing 10mm id bearing that resides in the low speed gear that the end of the new 12 mm shaft has also been changed.  The new bearing also has a larger od, so the low speed gear has been bored out to fit the new larger bearing.

Cost of new upgrade shaft, bearing and low speed gear:

130 euro with 30 euro shipping charge.

Thanks

So in the end a new shift shaft, low speed gear and new bearing thats in the low speed gear were purchased directly from Everol in Italy.  From time parts were ordered and dropped off at my house was three days but we opted for DHL shipping (30 Euros). New parts installed and reel now shifting properly with non slop. Pic of new and old parts.  Due to the larger od of the end of the shift shaft, the support bearing has a larger id and the od of the bearing is also larger hence having to buy the low speed gear as it has a larger bore to accept the new bearing.  Cost of parts 130 Euros.
