Are Ambassadeur plates interchangeable, i.e. 4600C4 to 5600C4 ?

Is the frame & spool just wider between the 2 reels?

If so,by how much?

Yes, they're like legos. You can even put 5000c plates on a C4 but spool shaft length is different. Some of the casting competition types do that to put 2 more bearings on the spool shaft. They just need a shorter spool shaft.
