Hey Folks,

been working on a side project i wanted to share and ideally hand off to continue as a community project (alternatively, i can collect feedback, requests for additions and continue to release updated iterations of the tool.

i ran into some file size issues that i'm still working through but in the interim i wanted to share at least the running list of bearings (with corresponding bearing SKU #; dimensions; corresponding reel part # & corresponding reel model).

Ultimately, this list will be linked to a tool that will allow you to select a reel in question from a dropdown list that will then return a list of all bearings within that reel, along with the corresponding part number, bearing dimension and bearing sku #

i've also started compiling reel schematics and corresponding parts lists into a central location for ease of access, and to add some better organization to more easily navigate to specific reel models.

here is an example of the schematics (bearings within the schematics will also be highlighted as a further identifier aid:

*you can either click the tab for the desired reel, or navigate by selecting the reel from the dropdown list in the upper left

here is a snapshot of the full reel schematic array (gives insight into all integrated schematics thus far):

this is still a work in progress but the goal is to tie a few things together in a centralized location for the fellow reel techs out there.

Is this something you're willing to share on Google Drive, whose spreadsheet can be converted to sheets to make it easier to collaborate?

BTW, This looks great! I can tell you put a lot of effort and thought into its creation.  Great work.

It is in due time.. (and time is really what I need).  For some additional insight however, i started tinkering on this project on a company laptop so i'm running up against restrictions so i'll need to get the file off the work computer firstly and then i'll be able to get it to google. the other hurdle is that i've made some progress and now the excel file is just too large for emails regardless so i'm floating around a few different ideas on how to go about that.  Most obviously (and will be last resort) - i'll just chop the file up and reconstruct it but while we're here i might as well explore if there there are other areas of clean up i can perform.

and thank you!  i had been thinking on this for a while and am not sure if it's just a business thing to make things harder for folks, or if it's truly just something that has never been a priority, been needed.  We have so many reel manufacturers these days and i'd also imagine theres been an increase in reel techs as a result as well.  it's due that we have some things centralized, with some tools to help navigate.

I'm not sure if its possible, but never forget "old technology" USB pen/thumb drives.

One other note for now - the final file will have a hidden worksheet that has a ABEC bearing dimension/size chart (pulled from Boca's website for reference, and is probably a tad redundant as Alan Tani has a stickied post with the same thing.  Again, goal is to have everything in one spot still).

lastly, the bulk of the bearing tool is attached here (has the list of bearings by part #; dimension; reference to reel model #). so it could be used for the interim, just would be a little more manual/might require some additional scrolling/filtering/sorting to drill down on what you're looking for relative to the final product.  what is to come is the schematics all housed together, and organized; the other component is the UI for the bearing search tool.

the columns with the blue header/top row will list compatible bearing SKUs by grade (if available) from abec5 to abec7

The excel file in the first posts is the smaller version, and works fine.
I am working on the google drive, I will give op access so he can upload it to google drive directly and share with us.
Heading to detroit in a few hours, once I get back tonight, I will get the google drive ready.
