I ordered one of these online because options seem to be limited for jigmaster handle blades that aren't offset. (Am I the only person with big fingers here? How does nobody else have this problem? with an offset handle my fingers struggle to fit between the offset handle on a narrow reel and a non-skinny rod?)

But I digress. The maker made the hole for the gear sleeve a half a millimeter larger than the sleeve in both directions. I sent a message to see if this was intentional or if I got a lemon. No, it's intentional, supposedly to make installation easier. But with the gear sleeve held still the handle will rotate almost 45°. Seller says the handle will still work just fine (with the added "believe me") and maybe if you're fishing it at 2-5# of drag it'll be just fine, for a while. But that's not how I fish my jigmaster. I don't think I know anyone who fishes their jigmaster in that way.

If I knew the sleeve hole was oversized ahead of time I wouldn't have bought it. They don't advertise this intentional design feature so I'm spreading the word for them.

maybe you should try with a bigger or different handle knob, it might give you more space between your big fingers and the handle blade

That doesn't seem right, if it moves something is going to wear out

Yeah it's too big of a hole. Seller said so. It feels improper to screen shot a conversation or I'd show you. I took these pics to process the refund. Measured a stock 98-60 lest someone (unfamiliar with them) say maybe the issue was the aftermarket sleeve.

Really I think all aluminum handle blades may eventually round out under crazy drag pressures. But if it's a loose fit I think it's gonna happen a lot faster with a lot less drag.

I'm going to suggest to the seller that he should mention the oversized hole on the listing. I'm not calling it false advertising. It's not. But he'd probably process fewer returns that way.

More gear sleeves have been wrecked by loose fitting handles .  I would not even try to hammer forge the hole to close it up some .    If you can not return it , you now some bling to add to your key ring .

Tom has handles on his site
Cortez Conversions. They are always the correct size.

Yep, Cortez Conversions has great blades at a fantastic price, and they are snug fit.

A lot of custom reel parts are now made across the pond, and not worth a red cent

When I had local machinist make my blades, he asked if I wanted to make the hole a hair larger to allow for anodizing. I said no. I use a rubber screwdriver handle and hafta smack it hard to get my blade on the sleeve.

I might need to drive down south and come check out what you have in stock!

I've talked to the seller/maker. He's working on round 2 and we are discussing what other reels the handle can potentially be modified to fit. Happy ending.

Alan how much do you want for one?

Yep, just looked at the listing Jason. The listing says those sloppy blades are made in China. That seller only sells stuff made in China. Buyer beware !!
