I have been fishing with a Diawa DF-100 lately. Once I went through it and got the drag sorted out it is a perfectly servicable reel. It's greatest selling point? Not a single ball in the joint. Not even in the bail. Swim with it, get it home and remove three screws, blast with water and then grease, perfect.

I have made my opinion of bearings pretty clear on here.

I'd replace with Torium bushing. Everyone else will think it has ball bearings in it. I have yet to see a Torium/Calcutta/or Sealine driveshaft bushing fail. I can't say the same for any driveshaft BB in a Trini or Saltist Star.
