Patudo

I have fished Seribu before, lovely place, but when I was there we were fishing for ikan merah instead of tenggiri. Your boatman's advice I believe is right as although braid has its advantages, there are still many situations where mono is better and this is one.  Mackerel have very good eyesight and braid is more visible than mono: if you're using braid, use a long mono leader, the longer the better.  does your boatman recommend using mono straight to the hook or are you using some wire?

As for local fishing condition in Seribu: conditions are always different (sometimes a little, sometimes a lot) in different places, but generally speaking new and full moon are pretty good for pelagics. Exceptions could be where tides and currents are already extremely strong.
