Ambassaduer 5000D anti reverse question

I picked up a 5000D the other day and the anti reverse is not working. I know Garcia introduced this as a direct drive reel for bass fishing but it should have a anti reverse. The handle keeps turning backwards when engaged and out of free spooling with the line going out. The free spool works fine. Any suggestions on how to fix this or what is broken?

Hi. From how you posted, the reel is working correctly.... there ~is~ no anti-reverse....  Direct drive.

The handle is ~supposed~ to turn backwards if you let go. Direct drive.   You do have a drag setting, with that knob under the star.  When you let go of the handle, it will turn backwards, like it's designed to do (direct drive)
with whatever drag setting you made.

It was designed for American bass fishers, who wanted to horse mr. and mrs. big out of the weeds, with no slippage.  Do not wreck your green frame. If you want another green, and not another colour, you will spend just under 70.00 for a new green one.
