Hello all. Hopefully this is an easy topic. My reel is making noise only when I have it is the so called normal reeling position. Pretty much sounds like something loose rattling around like a bearing. Anytime I tilt it to either side or flip it upside down there is no noise. I opened her up and the only thing I could find was a anti-reverse pawl that had bent tips. Took out the breaking system, clicker, worm gear and the obvious parts needed to open the reel up and it still made the noise. I'm not advanced enough to strip down the drag, etc. Everything seems to function fine but am worried something could break loose and jam up the reel. Hopefully its just the AR. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tyler

Hi Tyler.

Take that A/R pawl out, and leave it out. Shimano A/R bearings work really well. More people have complained about the noise that the pawl makes than any other issue. The JDM reels in the smaller bass sizes don't have that pawl.

Cheers,

Terry.
Never was so much owed by so many to so few.
