finally put it in the water, ive been in no hurry.
it went good.
30k,s @3600 revs(gps)2 blokes,no gear.
it was rough out there,30+winds and nasty chop
that was fast enough today.
tight turns, didnt cavitate.
slow out the hole with the rear tank
thought it should have done better.
bit slow getting up on the plane
electrics all good
trailer good,loading,unloading
i put the bungs in at home so i wouldnt forget, smart !
took the bungs out on the ramp, and guest what
full of rain water.not so bloody smart.
the nose of the boat is a lot deeper than the back when it sits on the trailer.
rain water all runs to the front even with the bungs out
ah well, thats what trials are all about
a few leaks, blown fuse, break back didnt work on the trailer
bit more work,no money involve
put it back in again tomorrow, weather permitting
ill catch a feed and look for bait to freeze
bet it jumps out the hole tomorrow
cheers
just a couple of hours, nothing serious.

U probably need an auto bilge pump fitted if you havent already got one. Had an Flighcraft 5.4m that used to do the same thing.

Auto bilge pump used to to pump like buggery once you got up on the plane for aboutb 2 minutes then it was all good
The worlds a better place when its upside down

Shark Hunter

I had an auto pump in my boat. This is the only way to go! I have seen too many boats full of water or sink while in the water because of no auto pump.

Wallace, sounds like you've got a handle on it. Glad it worked out for you. Can't wait to see some blood on those decks. Best of luck with her.

luck is the residue of design.

I used to have a problem getting on plane out of the hole. I put on a four blade prop and it 10x better now.

Shark Hunter

I did too, I put a stingray on the lower unit and it jumped out of the hole!

Wallace: Leave the bung out when it is on the trailer.  Crank the front wheel of the trailer or put blocks under the wheel to get the boat to pitch toward the rear so that it drains.  Hang a ribbon on the trailer hitch to remind you when you hook up the trailer to replace the bung.  Sounds like you are having fun.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

You could try going down a pitch size in prop for a quicker response out of the hole, also what material is your prop. Stainless props are thinner than alloy one & much more efficient. I changed mine to an Evinrude viper (17" pitch)combined with a SE300 dolphin & it made a world of difference. My boat is 18' & has a 115 Johnson on it. I also fitted some negative urethane wedges to increase the trim range.

Wallace:  Name the boat something like the Tranquil Elizabeth.  She might come around.  Good luck motoring and fishing.  Dominick

I have my bung tied to the boat [I actually have three different bungs, I mean the main one] and so far I have never left it out. i've been out with a muppet that left his out twice, I don't go out in his boat anymore.
These look good though,   http://www.marineexpress.co.nz/shop/Pumps+and+Plumbing/SBBUNG.html
