Title: drag grease
Post by: schase1 on February 17, 2014, 02:40:08 AM
Hello, I'm new to this site and looking for clarification regarding drag grease.  In the process of changing out my drag washers on my Tekotá's 600LC, from what I have read, everyone recommends Cals, but is there a difference between reel grease and drag grease??  It is quite easy to get reel grease but hard to find drag grease in the local tackle shops, can you use reel grease on  drag washers. or is the same??  Also read that any Teflon grease would do such as mercury 24C lube, is that safe to use??  Or should I bite the bullet and order it on line.

Thanks

For a long time I used expensive high temperature Teflon steam turbine packing grease but when I ran out I went with Cal's.  Cal's or Shimano drag grease is what I'd recommend.
