Title: Mystik JT-6 Marine Grease
Post by: amoebasurgeon on February 25, 2014, 06:24:59 PM
Hi everyone. Yamaha grease is non-existent in OKC. If I wanted to special order it from BPS, there is a minimum purchase of a full case. My only option is Mystik JT-6 marine grease which is in stock at BPS. Is this a good alternative to Yamaha?

Could be a product comparable to Yamaha Marine grease. Mystik JT-6 Marine Grease, is a Calcium thickened product. In the theory, this type of grease  has water repellent abilitys similar to Aluminum thickened products, like the old blue Yamaha grease.

Calcium thickened grease has a better shear ability though, that means that it's a better lubricant for gears etc.  But in a fishing reel, I doubt you would notice any major difference.
