Title: Pro gear to Penn size comparison
Post by: Fishead on May 13, 2023, 08:13:59 PM
Is the 545 more comparable to a Penn 3/0 or another Penn. Is the 541 closer to a wide 3/0 or a jigmaster size?

I believe the 54X Pro Gear's are Jigmaster size. The 541 is 500/505 size, the 545 is 501/506 size. They both have 113H innards.

545 is definitely narrower than a 99. I don't have a 501 anymore to compare it with.

Yes, they are jigmaster size with 113h gears and drag.....and 113h spool shaft. The gears are also custom made by Pro Gear, 4-1 ratio and silky smooth

Great 30-40# bait reel loaded with 50# braid and a 30-40# top shot.
