Beginner's Board / Re: Micrometric

At this point it seems right to me to report in detail what the pro-staff said: << I've been fishing with that little gem for a year now; the Alijos 5, from Okuma, weighs practically nothing; micrometric clutch, precise, zero maintenance other than a wash at the end of fishing >>. I won't deny that when he talks about zero maintenance and micrometic clutch, I jumped on my seat.

These folks have a good reputation in the old tool restoration hobby and the vintage razor restoration hobby.

Benni, you did good.  The kid was probably shocked that you didn't rip him off.  Benni is my man.  Dominick

Quote from: quang tran on April 18, 2024, 05:48:19 PMAll 01 and 00 series can manual close the bail but 1000 and 1001 you have to turn the crank to close it .I let my friend use my 1001 and he try to close the bail by hand cause it broke .It took me several years to find part to repair it

There is a "V" shaped "Nail Nick" on the stop lever.

Just use you finger nail —- and the bail closes very easily on the DQ 1000/1001 —- without cranking the reel.

That is why the "V Nick" is there —- instead of being just a straight piece of metal.

This is one of the features that is useful to use when stealth fishing.

D.A.M. Quick / It's not my fault, right?
Last post by Steve V. - Today at 03:36:46 AM
I was looking at FB Marketplace a week or so ago and I saw a DQ Finessa with a Taiwan made Mitchell 300 for sale for $20.00. I thought to myself let someone else have them, I just acquired a Finessa and I like the older French made Mitchell reels. So I passed. I was looking at Marketplace day before yesterday and low and behold the ad was still up. Surely the seller forgot to take it down. I decided to see so I sent a message. The seller contacted me and told me they were still for sale. I made arrangements to go get them. The Finessa is a little rougher than I like my reels to be but for the price, what the heck. I now have two Finessas and a slew of Mitchell 300s. It's not my fault, right? I gave the other folks in my area plenty of time to snap them up. ;D
