You have to be extremely careful to support the sideplate properly while punching it out. I use a socket with an ID slightly larger than the OD of the bearing, then drill a hole into a block of wood slightly larger than the OD of the socket to recess it until the whole sideplate is barely touching the wood and the immediate material around the bearing is directly supported by the face of the socket.

The baitrunner "cam" (#13244 on the schematic) and the body opening it goes through get slightly corroded over time (there's no seal on them) and can make it stick. Take the reel completely apart (slightly awful, I know) and lightly sand the ends of the cam and the body.

I called NMFS at 930AM today and they told me..."Stand by for update"....Clearly the allotment has been attained. Is that closed as of immediately, or some other time like 12PM tonight??

Side note, I was surprised to find-out the slow growth rate of Rockfish species and the age range of mature ones. For example: Black Rockfish up to 50yrs old and reach sexual maturity at 6-8 yrs. Old.

      I am here to learn and share information  .   What provoked me to start this thread is to myth bust some thing that are out there .    I am not picking on the people who posted the u tubes , I just don`t agree with their fixes .  I will break down some of my thoughts in following posts .
