Since I started here, I've picked up quite a few of these Silver Series and Regal-D series reels-after fishing with the first one I got I just really like them.
After seeing The Fishing Hobby's video on replacing the nylon bushings in his reel, I did the same. It doesn't really smooth the reel up, but a few of the reels I have acquired had worn or very brittle bushings, and two of them are mix-master parts reels that I just didn't have all the bits for.

The Daiwa coil spring drag stacks are very similar in construction to each other. They mostly use a 6-washer stack, 3 frictions and 3 steels, and most of the mid-size reels use the same size washers.
Smooooth Drag Carbontex washer replacement:
100X/A-100RL - Modify 3pcs washer #13. Cut OD from 21.28 to 13mm OD.
1300X - Use 3pcs Washer #5
1600X - Use 3pcs Washer #5
2600X - Use 3pcs Washer #5
4000X - Use 3pcs Washer #9
7000X - Use 3pcs Washer #9
Some Daiwa reels in this series have a disc spring drag. The disc spring drags have a single friction, a single steel, and a flat disk spring. The 1000X is a notable example.
1000X - Modify Washer #54 by reducing OD from 33.8mm to 29.8mm. Use 1pcs.
Thanks - that was very helpful!
