Title: BACK FROM TEXAS
Post by: HOLEINTHEWATER on May 01, 2017, 11:34:48 AM
OVER 1100 MILES TO ROCKPORT TX. SOME OF THE WORST WINDS I HAVE DRIVEN IN FOR HOURS BOTH WAYS. It was an OK trip for fishing. The wind kept us from doing some of the trips we wanted to do. Caught bunch of different kinds of fish. Few of the Red Fish we caught. Caught a bunch of Gaftop.

Those look some good eating size Reds.
1100 miles is a long haul.
More than I want to drive.
Congrats on your catch.

Congratulations.  Looks like you did really well.  Rockport is a windy place even with routine/normal weather.  On the other side of the bay it's solid wind farms now.

You can almost always count on wind in TX, especially deep south TX. We had so many windy days this winter, we only got about half of our normal offshore trips in. And it was still wonderful!
