Title: Penn Senator Problem
Post by: zanereifers on July 13, 2017, 09:02:33 PM
I have a Penn Senator 113h2, no upgrades to it, and i have a problem with it. When im casting it every once in a while ill get a backlash, and sometimes the line with get stuck in between the spool and the side of my reel. Usually this will cause it to cut the line. I am using 50 lb mono so I wouldnt think that that would happen but im not sure if I should use heavier line, or if i need to change something on my reel, (such as getting a new spool etc.) Thank you

Ok thanks. That seemed to tighten it up a little.

Not really a casting reel. Adjust your spool so that it is not tight but just after the side to side play is gone. Make sure the spool bushings are lubed.
As to the back lash you have to educate your tumb to control spool speed.

Don't let the guys from Hawaii hear you George🙂.

Zanereifer, good advice from the guys, I want to add for you to make sure the spool is centered, if it sits too far to the right you might need a shim. A 50lb mono should not get caught on that reel.
