I am sorry to have to inform, all you good people, that Wallace brown ( Wallacewt) has passed away, on Wednesday April 26 2017, Wallace once told me that he signed up with this forum the first few days that Allan started it, Wallace had two tumors remove about 8 Years ago, the surgeon told him that they managed to get all of the tumors & he should not have any more trouble, however they forgot to tell wallace to come back for regular check upps, any way he was not well mid 2016, they found cancer in his liver, the surgeon told wallace, that he would be lucky to see Xmas 2016, Wallace still had his great sence of humor 2 weeks ago, when I last vissited him, he was very lucky to have such a lovely lady in Elizibeth his partner, Elizebeth made sure wallace had his regular medication, until he became to heavey for her to handle, so Wallace was hospitalized, Wallace was a full time rod maker for 23 Years, Wallace joined a fishing club on the east cost in 1995 to 1997 he won all the major trophies in them 2 to 3 years, we have photos that I will try to get to the forum soon, yours truly don.

Thank you for the sad news.
Thanks Don, That's terribly sad news, Wallace was a good man.
We will all miss his aussie humor and good-natured wit, his inquisitive mind with reels and tackle - and his fishing reports.
It appears he has turned his hand to a few pursuits - I bought some stuff from him a while back and when he saw that I was in Rockhampton he mentioned he worked as a bookmaker at Callaghan Park race course here during the 1980's.
My condolences to Elizabeth and family.
Mike
Deepest condolences to Wallace's family at this time of change.
For those of us who trust and believe in the promise of Eternal Life, we know the true Wallace is already using his clever talents and humor in ways we cannot even imagine.
Goodspeed to a good man --
Best,
Fred

A sad day, but we can think happily of him as he was and think of the lessons he taught. Thanks Don for letting us know.
Condolences and prayers to all his family and friends.
Sad news, prayers to family and friends.
So sad that the doctors did not make it clear to him about the necessity of the follow-ups.
My condolences to his wife and family :(
very sad news, condolences to you for the loss of your friend and to his family.
Condolences to his wife and family, and I hope he rests in peace :(
Very Sad news. I was aware he was having health issues, but didn't realise it was that serious.
Condolences to Elizabeth and his family.
Yes, a sad day, indeed. Although I never met Wallace, we had a friendship that was truly special to me. When Nancy informed me of his passing this morning, I was sad to know that we lost such a terrific man and a cherished member of this family. I am comforted to know that he is no longer suffering. I will miss our weekly conversations and his wonderful sense of humor. Wallace was truly one of the brightest guys I have come to know and I learned a lot from him. My biggest regret is not making his wish for me, Dominick, and Justin to share a boat trip with him. Who knows...maybe someday when we meet again? I am sharing a picture of Wallace at what he did best. Rest in Peace, good buddy! You will be sorely missed.

That was very well said Sal.
He was definitely a friend and a very smart man.
His spinfisher drag washer set up should have been patented.

He will not soon be forgotten.
Best wishes and condolences to Liz and the Brown family from all of us,
Daron

Sad day indeed. He is one funny and witty guy. Fun talking with him on Skype. God bless his family and friends. Deep condolences.
One truly funny dude. His posts were always good for a belly laugh.

Jonathan and Miss Mari
Donny,
Did you give Liz our replies?
I hope she is doing Ok considering the circumstances.
Every time I talked to him, I told him to give Liz a kiss from me.
You can tell when someone really touches you, like he is right there, but I never met him face to face.
I miss Wallace. He was a Good Man. :'(
I am just catching up on past posts and came across this. I am truly sorry to hear about Wallace's death. I could not reach him for a while but did not know he was sick. Rest in peace my friend I will miss you. Don please pass on my condolences to Liz. If you have a telephone No. and an address for the family will you pass it on to me. Dominick
Sad news indeed. Although I didn't know Wallace well, I learned a great deal from his valuable contributions to the site, and know everone spoke well of him.
John
Hi every one, thanks for all your kind words of Wallace, Daren, I have printed all of your replies, was supposed to catch up with Elizabeth today, her grandaughter was supposed to bring her to our Place for lunch, but grandaughter, is having car trouble, so maybe I will be up there later this week, Dom I will try to PM you with the phone Number, thanks again every one, I have some photo of some trophies wallace won, when he was fishing on the east coast, when I up date my computer I will try to post them here. cheers Don.
G'day Don, if you want to email the photos to me I'll post them here for you.
Mike
Don, I read somewhere that "one does not die until the last person that knew him dies." That precept touched me deeply. Liz should know that there are many people around the world through this site and Wallace's travels that Wallace lives profoundly in the hearts and memories of many. May he rest in peace I'll miss him but won't forget him. Dominick
Geez, Just saw this sad thread, and wanted to say that what I knew of Wallace was his humor and talent. They will both be missed by me and many others here.
My condolences to Wallace's family,
Dom
Don, thanks for posting this.
I'd been trying to contact Wallace, as I'd not seen this.
I'm at a loss really.
Please pass on my condolences to Liz and family.
When he went downhill again a year or so ago, I built him a 'Sal Special' Tank so he'd have something to look forward to when he got back out on the water.
I knew the prognosis was rough, but he always took it in his stride and pushed on, so I always had faith he'd get through it.
We were talking about a tarpon trip Stateside with Dominick and Sal only a few months ago.
He was truly a unique individual and a good friend.
He also had an unsurpassed capacity for selflessness and humour in the darkest of hours.
I miss ya Wallace - rest in peace mate.
Justin

Sorry Justin, I thought you were aware. I should have contacted you.
As you, I've had many conversations with Wallace, your name used to always pop up.
I miss that man.
Sal
I also missed the original post. Condolences to his family. He was a longtime member with great information. He will be missed.
Thanks Sal.
Sorry for your loss too.
'Ohana - it means family'

Charlie
A photo of Wallace and Elizabeth with Wal's fishing trophies 1996. First photo just above Elizabeth's head Club Champion, top left Open Champion, centre top Most Meritorious Capture 1996, top right Highest points 409-9, and then the very top Land Based Champion 1996. Cheers Don. Trying to post this by inserting image code from Photobucket, hope it works.

It worked Great Don.
That is a Younger Wallace and Liz I haven't seen before.
I hope she is doing well.
Daron
Thank Daron, this picture although not very clear, is of a dedicated fisho, Wallace fishing in the middle of a cyclone, keen man, cheers Don.

Thanks for posting these Don - looks like '96 was a good year for Wallace.
Mike
Yes Mike, considering he would have been about, 60 plus years old then, and keen enough to fish in the middle of a cyclone, I will get some more pictures up soon, before I forget how to post them, cheers Don.
Beautiful picture of Wallace with Elizabeth. I just downloaded to my album.
Sal
Wallace Brown 1997 Caught this 27kg Hammerhead Shark on 8kg test line. Cheers Don.

Rest in peace Wallace. Your time here was certainly filled with a lot of fun adventures and happiness, that's the important part of life: enjoy every second you can. My condolences to the family and friends of this great gentleman.
this is a medallion that Wallace won, as New South Wales, Australia, State champion 1996, I made a mistake in the Hammerhead ( last picture ) it should have been 24Kg, not 27 sorry, I have one more picture to post, in this Ohana post then I am going to print the rest of it out & hand it to Elizabeth, possibly this coming weekend, cheers Don.

Photo of Wallace, not sure if he is smiling, about the 18Kg line he caught these trevally with, or his budgie smugglers, Okay, that was the last photo I have so if anyone wonts to reply before I print, what I haven't already printed, possibly on Friday, thanks & cheers Don.

I have to say, I sure wish I got to know Wallace in person. He sure seems like a heck of a guy, and one hell of a good fisherman. Not only could he catch fish that only most of us dream of, but he could do it wearing a marble bag or dressed like a business man with his suspenders. Elizabeth, my heart goes out to you and your family for your loss.
We will surely miss him as well.
Dom
I hope this gives you some Closure Liz.
Wally will be sorely missed around here.
I wish You and your family only the best during this rough time.
We will all meet again on the other side. ;)
Love,
Daron
Wal had this fish in his Photo albun, it is a 27LBS venus tusk fish, caught on artificial reef Hervey Bay, Daran ( shark Hunter ), you mentioned a bit about Wallace drag invention, would you like to elaborate on that subject some more before I close & print every thing, I have tried to find it in the past posts, with Know success, cheers Don.
It was a project that many were involved in. Mainly Sal.
Wallace came up with a different configuration for the drag stack.
Unfortunately, his pictures don't show up.
I remember him posting pictures of him lifting heavy objects with his 750 and 850ss,
I will try and find them, but I think his photobucket is disabled now.

Hi Daron, thanks for posting that, Sal & Wallace were always thinking of impoving reels, when I first met Wal he said all the Ohana family are great, But sal is a really nice honest man, Sal you are gospel to us all, thanks for sharing all your wisdom, cheers Don.
Thanks every one that has repied to this post, Elizabeth said thanks to you all, Justin I gave you a mention & she remembers you well, maybe you spoke to Wal on skype like many of the Ohana family,
This last picture demonstrates, that a true fisher man, know matter what size fish your catching, you still have a smile from Ear to Ear, -May you rest in piece old mate cheers Don.
