I can not stop looking at the pics Jon.
I can not get over your skill in transforming our discussion into the look of the rod.
You should hear the mad props the guy I'm sitting next to is giving you.

Beautiful rod Jon.

Ben, I think you need a blue reel for that rod.

What do you have Bryan?
I have a Lexa 300 that I'm going to try out in it.
Waiting on a couple pieces to be anodized, blue.

I like Jon's recommendation...matches your rod perfectly.

I try to match up the colors too just because I can. I've got a blue Pro Gear 501 and a Blue Avet SX or MXJ that would look good there.  I use them for 20# (25# on the MXJ) on one of my blue themed rods.  A nice Gunmetal Pro Gear 255 would look good too with those colors and guides.

Ben, what are you looking to use the rod for in terms of both line weight and actual usage?  Helps in suggesting an appropriate reel.

i think we have him covered.  ben bought a pair of terez rods a couple of weeks ago, then got a gold trinidad 16 narrow from bryan and a standard width gold trinidad 16 from me.  he's set up now for 30 and 40#.  he's got his daiwa lexa to go on the vadney rod.  maybe ben will post up photos.

Good call. I was thinking that a Lexa would look good on that rod too. No need for a $500 JDM Daiwa to get a reel to match.

it's going to get interesting, because somehow i did not ask for that time off.  i am apparently the "third" request for a vacation at that time.  worst case, tim, you get to be charter master.  we should be able to work something out, though.  i hope.......

No bueno Sir.
Wow, there are a lot of people requesting time off in June.
If the schedule doesn't work out then you can have my slot off from work.
I'll go next year.

Nice! Is that a JDM version with the blue parts and the carbon handle?

The handle is from Hawgtech, 102mm swept version. It has Winn grips.
I sent them a star and cap and they anodized them to match the retainer.
