Title: Power Pro Depth Hunter
Post by: TechTeach on May 17, 2014, 11:16:16 AM
Thinking about putting PP Depth Hunter in 65lb. On my 113h T4NK, mainly going to be used for jigging Bass, bluefish and tuna.

Anyone ever try the stuff, I like the idea of the metered colors, have regular 65lb on my Baja Special now.

I've never used the depth hunter, but I'm not really a fan of the regular powerpro.  I have daiwa saltiga boat braid of most of my offshore reels though.  It's metered, and very soft and smooth, not coarse and stiff like powerpro.

not sure how much line you're talking about, but i would rather see you use a hollow core spectra in 80 pound.  hollow core can be spliced/repaired and you won't need as much to fill the reel.

Basically looking for the attest greates suggestion for jigging.

Going to fill up a Penn 113h with tiburon narrow spool.

What brand of 80 do you suggest?

I've used the diawa boat braid for about 3 seasons now. Nice stuff. Super smooth. Haven't given the PP a shot yet though. With the diawa I use the 100# with no issues. Hope this helps.
