Following recommendations from this board, I now have a tuna setup that should be able to land a small car. I noticed that the Penn international 50VISX which I bought shows an optimized strike setting of 27 lb and full drag at 41 lbs. However the 50 visw is 17 and 25. Curious why the narrow reel is set so much harder. Playing with it in the driveway with my son in the role of tuna, drag seems very tight.
I have zero tuna fishing experience so any tips are appreciated

the "x" designation is stiffer bellevilles and a steeper drag profile for southern california. otherwise, the plain "non-x" reels have a lower drag profile for the east coast. or at least that what i think the reason is...... :-\
