Title: Penn Intl 30 drag covers
Post by: triumphrick on April 15, 2010, 08:14:41 PM
Alan, I pm'd you before I realized I could post a topic. So, since some others may be in need of help or able to help me, here goes...

I have three older 30's that don't have screws in the drag covers. Instead there are three tabs that fit in a slot around the reel. I can get two of them in...I press down to compress the spring and push at an angle..but I never have gotten all three back in.

If anyone has a technique they use, I am all ears..!!

Thanks, Rick

Usually I can get the third on in place by just pressing it in very hard. I have used a wide flat screw driver to place more direct pressure ... pressing in towards the centerline of the reel and down at the same time.

Works for me.... no damaged ones yet.
