Title: Any reviews of redesigned Tekota series ?
Post by: beancounter on January 20, 2020, 07:19:26 PM
Just wondering if anyone has opened one up to get a look at the construction. What I like is the 600 size has 6.3:1 ratio and it appears some kind of carbon drag instead of the craptanium on the older models. Inquiring minds want to know before buying.

we are winning.  shimano switched over to greased carbon fiber drag washers.  otherwise, the reel is nice, but you're paying a "shimano" price.....   :-\

I bought a new version of the tekota 500 for salmon fishing and I have to say its lighter, smaller, stronger, better drags and supposedly more water proof. I fished it a dozen times this past salmon season landed a lot of very nice kings with it. whats not to love about all that.  Havent opened it up yet.  I have to get through my older tekotas first.
