Title: 113h open drag side plate
Post by: dsherk on June 13, 2013, 05:35:37 PM
Has anyone tried to convert a 113h red side plate to a open drag by enlarging the hole?
Most of the side plates available are the maroon ones.
I have a 113h with the half frame, it was converted to a yellow tail special.
The other question is it worth the trouble?

I'd say it's not worth the trouble.

I don't know why he wants it either, but if it's what he wants I'm happy to oblige. I need to keep my cover however.

Thanks for the responses, I guess I should of asked if there was any advantage to having an open drag? I'm just going to install my SS Sleeve and new 5/0 handle and call it good. Thanks.

There are reels with easy access drag system. No advatage with those, you should always try to break down your reel when servicing it.
