Title: New life for Neptuna
Post by: droppedit on March 15, 2018, 12:29:35 PM
Currently working on a couple of oldies. The first pic is a rebuild of a Neptuna 80lb with an old Montague that was re-wrapped with old stock nylon. There is a glimpse of the cradles they are going on in the background.
The others are the Neptuna in the foreground with the old Neptuna in back that I used for a pattern. Both rods are wound with old stock Gudebrod thread and have a spar varnish finish. I love working on these old timers!

Varnish is McCloskey Spar but I'm sworn to secrecy on the label. My camera sucks and they look a lot better in the sunlight.
