How old is a Senator 4/0 that has a steel gear the same size as a longbeach 66? When did they upgrade it to a larger gear?

Dwight, the 113 always had the same main gear as the LB 66 (5-66). I think the 5-66 steel gear was made until the Chinese 113L2 came out with a bronze main gear & a aluminum spool around 2000.            Rudy

This is an old black Senator 4/0. My newer USA 113s have the larger diameter gear.

the black 113's have the small gear. The red/maroon 113H's have the larger gear. The US113 and the 113HN are a totally different reel.

The question still remains. How old is this reel? When did the change from small diameter to large diameter gear take place. Does anyone know?

That's what we are trying to tell you, the stock gear size in the black 113 has never changed size. The only thing that changed was the material it was made of.
