Just got a text from AT. They are safely back at the dock at La Cruz (Puerto Vallarta) and will be home tomorrow. They caught 8 fish, 7 were between 70 and 120 pounds. His last fish taped out at 272 pounds, so I'm sure he's a "happy camper".

I guessed 270
I guessed 286# but the post went ERROR.
He must have 800 pounds of YFT in his freezer.

Few people over 60 have a back that could handle it. Alan has his own style, he leans on the rail buttons down the drag and beats the hell out of the fish. He probably landed it in around 25 minutes or less (guessing) Would have taken me an hour standing up and I'd have to rest for the remainder of the day and be sore for weeks.
That's a beauty. :)
That will make a bunch of spicy poke. Great job.
Wow ! That fish is bigger Than Alan... jEFF
Hmm sashimi - lovely fish Boss :)
Actually, your back is fine if you fish the rail. I'm nearly a foot taller than Alan and my back is fine fishing the rail as long as I take a knee. Just laying the rod on the rail and bending over hurts, taking a knee eliminates that. On the Marlas IV you can sit on the gunnel while laying the rod on the rail. That's a win-win!
Woot! Well done bossman!
Another great job by the boss! Just an FYI, the are vids of the fight and catch posted on YouTube....just look up Alan Tani 😀

Good fishing!
I watched a few last night, did that come on the squids/octo you guys were catching?
You're the man! Well done sir. You never cease to amaze me.
Keep it up,
Dom
I was standing on my tiptoes during part of that video. That fish was a fighter. Fantastic.
