Incredibly detailed build on a unique reel!  Tons of good info there (and kudos for the photos!), and you are using it to get into fish that is a PLUS.  It looks like you blueprinted this back to full operational status, that is cool! - john

Mmmmmmmm, now that's a breakfast!
Never smoked-up any tuna. Used to do Salmonids. The brine was just done to taste. Salt dissolved in water until it floats a raw egg, soy sauce, brown sugar and garlic, marinate overnight in the fridge.

It looks like a fun project but I am having problems just finding the parts to build my own.  :P My version is a Longbeach 66 with a 5 stacks with factory parts. Punch of a senator without the price.  8) I think it will pull many monster cats from below.

:)  The lollipop is a roller bearing ,has more surface area to grab than the ball bearing .  Keep a look out for hard pin stock that fits the diameter of the ball bearing .

Quote from: Maxed Out on May 13, 2024, 08:06:05 PMI found one online thru Ali Express that looks very similar to yours, but doesn't say it's a Brinkmann. It's $397

I have no idea if that's a good price as I got mine as an anniversary gift from my wife around 10 years ago....I'm sure they are still produce just under a different name brand

Quote from: jgp12000 on May 13, 2024, 05:20:28 PM220 Bearing Size? It appears this size also fits the 440 according to eBay.I was just curious if it also fits 220N, 285, and 330? I am sure Fred knows the answer or could list all the sizes in his spare time... :cf me so funnie !

Most top quality reel manufacturers of 40-50 years ago also listed a "Parts Interchangeability" chart, along with part numbers —- either in the back of the Shop Manuals, or as a separate shop booklet.

Here is an example on the 100176 bearing —-

Wayne I never use a formal receipt, I just throw a bunch of ingredients into a bowl and taste it as I go along. Usual ingredients are soy sauce, garlic, citrus juice, honey, sugar, ginger, lemongrass, oil (sesame and/or chili) and water....
