Hello Alan,

I don't know if you can talk on the phone or read this email, but I
wanted to give you a short report of what has happened so far.

The boat left the dock around 8:40 am and made it to Ensenada at 4:30
PM. Unfortunately, Jerry Downie fell down shortly before they got to
Ensenada and hurt his shoulder
and the knee he hit a couple of days earlier, so he got off the boat
there. They took him to a doctor just to be sure nothing was broken, then
he was driven back to San Diego. Fortunately, he didn't brake anything.

Your group made it to Guadalupe a bit before 11 am the next day,
Wednesday. They caught about 10 yellowtail the first day. Fishing is
slow, unfortunately. I haven't heard how they did
today but the guys said they will have a good time no matter what (what
a nice group!). They will  go for bottom fish on the way back, so
hopefully that will work out.

We are thinking of you all the time. It was really strange not having
you there on departure day.

Best wishes,

Annemarie and the crew

PS  We will give Sarah a call on Saturday to let her know about the catch.

they needed 400 fish.  they are fishing inshore right now.  i'm sure they had a good time, but the bite was really slow.   :-\

Hello Alan,

Mike called this morning with the count: 75 Yellowtail in the 20 to 30 lbs. range and one Tuna.  So they got about a ton of fish.  I called 5-Star so they know what to expect.  Hopefully, they are going to get some bottom fish as well.  The boat is on schedule to arrive at 5 am tomorrow after clearing customs at 4 am.
Best wishes to you!  Annemarie

We didn't fish inshore on the way back.  We paddy hopped.  We got a strike for 4 YFT while trolling about 10 miles west of Ensenada.  Ya know, I've never caught a bunch of 5# Calicos and considered them pests until this trip!

I think we had a total of 5 YFT, nothing bigger than 30# and 75 YT up to a 48# toad.  I had 2 Calicos of 8-9# that were personal bests.

Yes, Lauren got the big YT and YFT on bait at Guadalupe.  She did a great job on them.
