Title: CALCUTTA TE 300 PROBLEM
Post by: LTM on October 30, 2013, 02:18:03 AM
Guys,

I cant seem to take the right side plate off my reel. I completely serviced the reel over a year ago, but now cant remove the side plate (gear/handle side). I removed all three screws, but there's resistance to coming apart  near the area next to the level wind mechanism. Any ideas as to whats holding the plate on?

Thanx,

Leo

Do they have the bearing and the pin in front of the bearing? If so perhaps that bearing has corroded enough and is locked into the housing. I would remove the bearing cap on the gearbox side and spray some lube down it. I would use Inox but depends what you have available.

Dont know which bearing your referring to. However there's absolutely no rust on reel. Have not fished reel since last service. Any other thoughts?

BTW, that was it Mel. All I needed to do was remove the clicker.

A well belated thanx Mel, and keep the pictures coming from Brasil
