While I was in Florida, I wanted to test the light 9'6" Suzuki rod for big drum and I got my wish.
I used 3 5 oz sinker with chunk of bait. I was surprised I could cast far to the channel as the rod is for light 3/4 oz - 3 oz.
After I hooked up a nice drum I let a kid who was fishing next to me fight the fish as I wanted to take video and pictures.
Big drum is powerful fish and I am impressed with the power and strenght of the light rod.
The rod can hanle any size of striper.
