Here are a couple more.
that rod look pretty good amigo.
outstanding job.
having a hiatus from rodbuilding in order to build/mod your home seems like a nice trade.
Very nice and clean work John, that finish looks great. Nice looking rod
I can't claim that kind of workmanship !!!! Dave built that rod and did a beautiful job !!!! John Taylor

I have no idea what Altenkirch was building on. The blank was definitely matched to the butt which has his logo stamped on it. The way the pin is set up in the seat the rod would only go in one way. It is such a treat working on these old rods. The quality of the components will probably never be repeated. They just don't make them the way they used to.
Very nice work Droppedit. I like the way you put the thread combination together and design.

Thanks for sharing your pictures with your words. You both do very good work. Keep it up, we are inspired to try to get out of our 📦. Thanks 🙏. Great job, great pictures. 5 stars ⭐️
Very professional looking finishes to that rod and the overall appearance and colours are great.
My rods don't quite look that nice :'( :'(
Wow ! those rods are massive ...very classy choice of colors indeed .. :)
Hey John, did they redo the cork on your rod as well? It looks brand new! I love seeing new life being breathed into these old classics...
Cork on the 80 lb rod that Dave did over was good I just gave it a light sanding to clean it up. The 130 rod with black and yellow wraps is new old stock and has never had a reel on it !!! I would rather have original than a redo but you do what you have to and this rod was worthy !! Thanks John Taylor
