Well, I got myself a second 3001.
This one is in very good condition.
I went over it and the only thing I found that differed from my first one was the bottom of the spool cap.
The face that is raised about one eighth of an inch.
Still no cooling washer between the metal drag disk and the spool cap, as on the 5001. I guess the 3001 did not have this.
The drag washers are in good condition .
My new 3001 arrived with 8lb monofilament spooled. A bit like putting 15lb mono on your 113h., but the line capacity readings on the spool are from 8 to 20lbs.
I serviced the reel. All good inside and the bearing came off the pinion easily.
cheers
Basto
Another nice one Greg, enjoy that reel.

Hi Sal
I'm going to fish this one also, probably with 15 lb mono and I will be treating it like a baby.
Greg
Looks like a good example of a desirable reel.
Frank
Yes Frank
For me its about as desirable as they come.
Greg
That's a beauty, Greg, great score!
Hi Darin
Yes, I feel very lucky. They are not easy to come by.
Greg
Sweet!!!
Looks like you got a nice one there, Greg!
Nice reel, Greg. I saw a DAM Quick 3000 on ebay a day or two ago. What's the difference in the two? I don't know anything about those manufactured after the N models.
mainly, anodizing:
00 = plain aluminum
01 = black-anodized
02 = graphite spool

Chester, there are some of these that have been broken down so you could compare the design.
Just look around on this section so you could compare the 000 to the 001 and 002.
Mo has a nice tutorial on the 1000
As you know, with the exception of the spools, these are pretty much of the the same design under the hood.
