Title: Removing a bearing with Single Malt Scotch
Post by: ReelClean on February 17, 2017, 02:00:27 AM
1)  Soak bearing in CorrosionX, Penetrol or like.

2)  Take one bottle of Single Malt Scotch, open it.

3)  Pour and drink a dram.

4)  Try to remove bearing from housing.

5)  Did bearing release?  No?  goto 3).
                                 Yes?   Congratulations,  goto 3)

6)  Repeat process as necessary until bearing is removed or bottle is empty.

Most times the bearing will refuse to yield, and the entire process from 1) to 5) will need to be repeated.
The procedure is self limiting: after the first bottle, most times I don't give a ship anymore and stop; after the second bottle I can't even scratch myself, let alone use fine hand tools   ;D

Slainte!

Steve
