Title: Penn Spools
Post by: Tyee II on May 27, 2019, 09:30:55 PM
I have several jigmasters and surfmasters that have several different spools. Some plastic, aluminum, and metal spools. What are the denefits and downsides to each of these. Some have come to  me spooled with different line types, mono, dacron and a few with modern braid, spectra etc. Are any better than the next for each of the line types ? Are the aluminums spools stronger than plastic? I look forward to your opinions.
Thanks

Mono and plastic spools are a risky combination.  All other combinations should be OK.

Light spools cast better/farther than heavy spools.... hence plastic and aluminum instead of chromed brass.
