A barely used PG545 with new and improved knob. This one does have a clicker. For those that aren't savvy about the older PG reels, this 545 is the same exact size as a Jigmaster 501, but it has 113H Bridge, sleeve, gears & drags. Also a 113H spool shaft. The frame is made from one solid piece of aluminum. The headplate is countersunk into the frame and only requires 2 screws. The jack is a jigmaster part, the yoke is a punched out jigmaster yoke, and Bryan Young is the supplier for those. This reel recently made a trip to Hawaii to go yak fishing with the "G' man (Gregg). He filled it with new 65# spectra and also serviced the reel. I just finished upgrading the knob, and now it's ready for a new lease on life.
$170 shipped to anywhere in the USA

$150 including USA shipping, and a jar of my albacore !!

Great deal!
Good one Henry!
You struck gold! That's a beaut
I'm going to start calling you Crazy Ted. No way I'm selling mine for that, lol.
EDIT: Not meant in a derogatory mode. Ted is awesome to anyone familiar with him. Just a crazy good deal.

By no means am I wanting to devalue anyone else's reels. These 1st gen Pro Gear reels are way undervalued in todays market. If these same reels were modern made, they would retail for $400+. The 545 & 541 also came with custom 4/1 gears made by Pro Gear. I've never felt a smoother set of gears as these. Selling here to the Ohana means no selling fee. eBay/paypal takes 15% right off the top. I subtract that 15% because no seller fees here.
Just in case anyone is interested, here's a couple Pro gear 541's (jigmaster 500 magnums). These are "no clicker" models. Silver reel is minus the clamp, but a standard 113H clamp fits, or Cortez clamp. The silver reel also has Adam blade and star, and new foam knob
The black one has new blade with Alan's 3/0 knob. Both reels have custom shift lever. The black one is filled with fresh 65# spectra. The silver one is 30# big game mono
black reel looks new, used twice. The silver shows some use. I used it for downrigger salmon fishing over 2 summers. The black foam knob is new. Functions are smooth as silk....$160 each
EDIT: black 541 sold
Silver 541 sold
With the upgrades, these reels should be selling for $200+, but recovering investment in a reel isn't always in the cards.
omg that black one is sleek! you're torturing us
Ted,
As always, your gear is top shelf !
Any other 545's on sale ???
Maybe a black or silver? ;)
Tite Lines my friend... And YES Ted's albacore is the best!!!
Danny
Ted,
The black 541 really floats my boat! Wanna hang a 'SOLD' sign on it?
-Mike
These Pro Gears are some serious "tank" size Jigmasters. Especially 'cause of the countersunk gear side-plate. I have a P.C. magged 501 kit with the one-piece al. frame that comes close, but the P. G. has a slight advantage.
I'm surprised they sell for as inexpensive a price as they do.

Sorry no green. I've never seen a green 545
As promised, here are 2 more 545's up for grabs
Gold one is minus rod clamp. Any 113H clamp will work. Including a Cortez clamp. The reel is nice condition and functions feel normal. I haven't serviced this reel, but a simple service would suffice. This one does have a clicker. What the heck, how bout $135 and free USA shipping
The silver (or gunmetal) 545 has a few scratches, but still very good, smooth function, but wouldn't hurt to give it a quick service. and lube(like all our reels). Also note this reel has new custom shift lever, new custom blade, and Alan's 3/0 knob. No clicker, and comes with clamp. Call me crazy, but I'll let it go for $160 and free USA shipping.(just the shifter, blade, and knob cost me $70)
EDIT: gunmetal 545 sold
EDIT: gold sold, but scroll down to see another sweet gold 545
.....couple more pics. This gold one is sold, but scroll down to see another really clean gold 545
I'll take the gold one!

I got my reel today! Wow, what a little tank indeed, awesome! All it needs is the ol' Tani-treatment and it'll be good as new. ;D
As always, box of extra goodies included, Ted is the man!
Happy holidays all.
Got my silver 541 this morning.
Thanks for the awesome gifts Ted!
Your aluminum handle is awesome. Christmas came early this year.
I appreciate all that you do for us in the Ohana.
Take care and Mahalo!
Stuart
USPS tracking says mine is out for delivery...that was very quick! I'll let you know when it hits the porch.
-Mike
I have bought several 545's thinking perfect dropper loop reel. I always get the one without a clicker. gave one to my boss and still have one. at least I found my last gold bag of Albacore from my handle purchase. you guys scored some nice ones.
Brendan.
Nice, love it when package arrives sooner than expected. I went to post office at 4:30 Thursday afternoon with all those packages. I automatically figured delivery would be Tuesday or Wednesday. It's almost like the good old days when USPS priority packages were delivered in 2-3 days
Package received Ted! Thank you so much. The reel looks even better than in the photo and the additional handles are fantastic! Looks like albacore is on the menu for tomorrow.
Thanks again
-Mike
