Way to go young man, keep it up and one day you'll be just as good as I am  ;D ;D.

accurate boss extreme 30 narrow - regreased the drag washers, cleaned the spool bearings out with carb cleaner and relubed them with TSI 301, packed all the non-spool bearings with yamaha grease, pressed out the old rusted plain steel anti-reverse roller bearing and pressed in TWO stainless steel anti-reverse roller bearings, replace the reel seat screws with No. 2 phillips head screws that were slight longer so that the screws have more "bite" and won't pull out like in the post below, cleaned and relubed everything elase and slapped it back together. the best part is that the kid from the local shop did all the work. i just sat here and kibitzed. i also got him through a couple of rough spots. it took him two hours and this was the first time he'd ever worked on an accurate before.

the reason for all of this? well, for one, the single plain steel AR bearing was rustted and was going to fail. the freespool also stunk. but now that this work is all done, you are looking at the jigging reel with the most powerful anti-reverse system in the world. i have made a half dozen conversions like this. it's not cheap, but the benefits are certainly there.

True!
Not bad for his first, quite a bit was done to that reel. But then again anyone else could, having the Master watching over his shoulder. ;D
He'll do just fine.

even with coaching, there are some guys that have had a pretty hard time.  the accurate was his most difficult reel to date.  and you can see from the video why the girls would like him so much.   ;D

Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.
