Tiburon frame and spool and Cortez Conversions side plates all machined out of solid blocks of aluminum, hand polished and anodized. Cortez Conversions stainless steel double dogs and sleeve. Shown with one of my other favorites, an Accurate 146 Squidder for size comparison.

Reel? That monster looks like a fashionista tow truck winch! Wowza!!!
Well, as luck would have it, our fishing day was a BUST, winds at 35 mph, gusts to 41, seas 12-13 feet at 9 seconds, so I called Randy Pauley to join us for lunch at our own Fred's-Acclaimed Taco Temple, and he obliged.

Wayne !!!!! That menu is insane !! I'll take one of each please !!
It takes quite a bit to render Me speechless , however ....
I just kept thinking of Papa Hemingway and the Pilar out in the Gulf Stream , waiting and watching ...
Looks like a great time was had by all there....
I hope Randy had a security guard with him, while lugging that monster reel around......

I didn't measure it Sheridan, but it holds lots of line. I think that you could fish the 4-mile bank standing on the Santa Barbara pier if you could get a boat to run your bait out there.
Thank you for the wonderful lunch Wayne. I had a great time with you and Jonathan. I hope that we can get together again soon when the wind isn't blowing!
That's a great crew, with a serious piece of equipment.
begging for a custom Mark Mayo box.
WOW!!!! :o
Wayne - Thanks for posting the photos and video! Sorry about the trip, but...there's a great taco shop in Morro Bay? :D - john
Thanks John!!!!
It was our very own Fred who first shared the now-famous Taco Temple!!!!

BUTT, they were out on the day we stopped by, so Rick, next time buddy boy!!!!
Wayne
Those carrots are amazing!
So Randy, only your Newell conversion collections get the "red handle treatment"?? 😀😃🤙🏼🤙🏼
Randy, I hope it's your favorite given what you've invested in it and that you'll probably never get it wet!

You are right on all counts Mark, but one of these days someone will love it more than me and it will find a new home, hopefully at a decent profit.
That reel really does deserve a nice box to display it in. I'd bet Mr. Mayo could come up with something fitting the bill. Keep it in perfect condition too.

try offer it to the guys of Tiburon Engineering, they might have another 20/0 frame but pretty sure they dont have those big metal plates.
that reel would look perfect on a glass shelf of tiburon offices
Iv'e , been away, here off & on for a while now .... Have to say the 1st page contained some pics of you all that are the best Ive seen. Good to see what you look like ;D ... Jeff
Oh & that 20/0 at least for me would be a peice for the shelf or my office desk. Perfect situation would be to catch one appropriate sized, stellar fish & desk or shelf queen after... Jeff
Randy is a Class Act.
As is Cortez Conversions.
These guys Coordinate Amazing Products.
I am one of the 20.
The unveiling will be a Tribute.
Thank you Daron, you made my day!
Wayne thanks for the pics, you said here is Randy with the reel, It would have been nice to see how hansom that Randy bloke is, cheers Don, or did`nt he shave.

I Thank you.
Its been a while. I was a little Rusty, but looked up Sal's 14/0 thread.
I will be forever in his debt. The man taught me everything.
Randy and Tom,
Thanks for making this happen.
Those Stainless dogs will wake the dead!

Daron, now that's a beautiful reel ! And I really like the wood stand for it... did you make the stand ? I have a 14/0 that I'll never fish but would like to display. That looks like the ticket...
Cool
Sounds like a gatling gun!
The Man
The Stand was gifted to me several years ago by a member.
I have some mahogany from an old boat I dismantled. Ima make me one !
Cool
Glad to see you back building shark tanks Daron. It also looks like you have very nice freespool. Sal is watching !!
Those dogs are definitely Loud with those springs. The 6/0 Sal built for me has the same setup. I love giving it a few cranks whenever I walk past it. I also have the same plinth generously donated by the same member
Looks great Daron! Love that handle
Great lookin' reel Daron! 8)
Very nice sounds great Daron
Kim
Wow, That sure is a nice looking Reel.
Great Job there,,, and luv that clicker
Col
Looks great Daron, possibly the best reel I have seen, thanks for posting it, cheers Don.
Well, if it were not for Randy, this post would not exist and these unbelievable 20/0's would still be a silly rumor that we have all heard before. Now when someone tells me about a Penn Senator 20/0 and how there is no such thing, I just take out "Lucky 13" and show them.
And here she sits. High and dry! Copy.JPG[/attach]
That's one big, cool, reel, Mike! 8)
What kinna military rifle you got on the wall Mike. Looks like one a those WW2 Japanese Arisaka's.
Great photos Mike! Thank you for all of your support helping to make this project (and several others) happen.
Looking good Mike!
I might finally get around to building one of mine soon
The rifle hanging on the wall is a Arisaka Type 38--6.5mm. It was removed by a U.S. Marine from an armory during the occupation of Tokyo in 1945. There is no Chrysanthemum on it, no damage, there seems to have never had the flower on the weapon.
Thanks for all the comments about the 20/0. It is a very special reel.
