Hmmmm....
That doesn't look good at all. Good luck
Thanks Alan, interesting to hear, what your plan of attack is, I would wire buff it with a dremmel, then dribble some acetone & auto trans fluid 50/50 on it for a couple of days, then, maybe heat it, then try to turn it, cheers Don.
I'm amazed that they didn't complain about their line getting cut more often.
Bolts not stainless steel?
yay !!
its that an Avet?
Ghetto fix: dremel stone and phosphoric/laquer them. They sure ain't going anywhere! ;D
;D Well it is not mounted to a rod so , are the bolt really to long if they are bolts . If studs then they are to long . That`s what i see ..
i replaced them with shorter stainless steel studs. he was probably wondering how his line got so banged up.
It is obviously not a casting reel, the line would not have lasted more then 2 casts.
seams to be a lot of rustler what should be stainless steel bolts
Kroil...
Alan you made it sound like it was easy, please tell us, how you managed to undo the bolts, keep well cheers Don.
the original studs were plain steel, not stainless, so i just used vise grips and muscled them out. the threads were mangled, so these original studs were tossed.
Sounds like something I would do/have done. Live and learn. Kinda looks like an Accurate reel.
it was an accurate.
Would have been me putting them in at 14, no wonder the old man was always chewing my #### out.
How about No.
Not a fan of Accurate.
I have had issues with 2 clamp systems on Accurate reels. Nothing else, though.
